Nothing quite compares to the very first moment spent with a newborn baby, whether it is your first baby or maybe even your 4th baby. New babies are a major responsibility, and can in the end result in a wonderful child. Some new parents are scared at first when bringing home a new baby, but at the same time some are anxious and haven’t a clue what to do. Of course there are no handbooks or rules to raising “the perfect baby” but there are things that you can do to be the best parent you can be.

When you bring home a baby it’s a life change for the whole family, especially mom and baby.
A new baby has a weird schedule, waking up at random hours in the night. This might make mom or whoever’s getting up with baby feel like they can’t handle it. So it’s good to make sure there isn’t just one person who’s always up at two in the morning with baby.

From new babies you can expect crying and a lot of it. This doesn’t necessarily mean that your baby is hurt or doesn’t feel good; it’s just your baby’s way of saying, “I need something.” As we all know, babies can’t say, “I’m hungry” or “My diaper is irritating me;” all they can do is cry. At first this may put off some parents who think the baby just wants attention, but this isn’t at all the case.

Bathing can be essential, but there is a certain time you should bathe your new baby.
All babies when they leave the hospital still have their umbilical cord on. While that is still attached you should hold off the bathing and if you get baby a little dirty just get the wipes

New babies can be a joy and a pain at times. When you’re dealing with new babies you should be prepared to have lots of baby items. These items are essential: bibs, diapers, formula (if you choose this) and wipes - lots of them. Newborns babies have been said to go though 8-10 diapers a day. But to be safe you most likely could say a diaper a bottle. Newborn babies usually eat every three hours so you could judge accordingly. Many people prefer national brand diapers like Pampers or Huggies but that isn’t necessary, a store brand will do just fine.

While your baby is new, food will be pretty easy. Newborn babies eat formula or breast milk. While this is simple for meal preparation it does make your baby hungry more because milk has no substance and their tummy passes it through rather quickly and that is why feedings are necessary so often. Safety is also a major concern of many newborns. Since infants have no neck strength yet while picking up baby you have to at all times support their neck. Bringing home a new baby can be a great day; knowing what to do will help though.
