Some women love being pregnant and some simply loathe the process. Some pregnancies are full of bothersome symptoms and some aren’t. While the list of possible symptoms is quite lengthy, the two most common pregnancy symptoms are fatigue and nausea. While these symptoms aren’t unusual, they can be difficult to handle for the entire pregnancy. Take a look at when most women can expect these symptoms to fade away and how to handle them throughout the pregnancy.
Fatigue
Pregnant women often complain they are exhausted. This fatigue often begins in the first trimester, disappears in the second trimester and reappears in the third. The stress pregnancy puts on the body can make a mother-to-be feel absolutely spent! Thus, it’s important expecting mothers get at least 8 hours of sleep each night, take naps if possible, eat healthy (energy-boosting) foods, stay away from caffeine (it can make fatigue worse) and relax as much as possible.
Nausea
Morning sickness can be a terrible experience and for mothers who experience “all-day” sickness, pregnancy can be difficult. Most often nausea goes away by the end of the first trimester and only reappears at the very end of pregnancy again. Some women are never nauseous during their pregnancy! To ward off nausea, it’s important for women to eat many meals throughout the day. A small meal or snack every three hours is a great way to ward off nausea. Because many women get sick to their stomach due to a drop in blood sugar, eating frequently can counteract the process. Keeping crackers by the bed (to eat before rising in the morning) is a good tip during the first trimester especially.
