On a cold winter day my kids can never turn down a nice warm mug of hot apple cider. When I was a child my mom made me apple cider all of the time, it is so simple!
Warm apple cider in a saucepan with a few cinnamon sticks. Heat to a slow simmer and pour into mugs. It’s that simple and oh-so-delish!

During the late fall, beginning around Halloween, my kids favorite thing to make is caramel apples. It has become a tradition to get some perfectly ripe apples and caramel to make the perfect caramel covered apple. Giving my kids apple cider, they begin to think about their favorite treat and ask me to make some caramel apples. I have found the next best thing….that isn’t quite to messy! Recipezaar has a great recipe I am going to HAVE to try out for Hot Caramel Apple Cider:
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups apple cider
- 1 1/2 Tbs caramel sauce or carmels
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
Combine all ingredients in a small sauce pan. Heat until cider is warm and caramel is melted. Serve in a mug and enjoy!
