Cast Your Pregnant Belly
After your baby is born you won’t be able to remember what your pregnant belly looked like. I know it seems hard to believe while you are still pregnant, but you forget…kind of like you somehow forget about labor. I still haven’t figured out how that works being that I went through three pregnancies/births and honestly can’t remember what it was like. I guess the joy of your child takes away the memories of the pain and turmoil.
If you want to remember your belly, there is a new trend that is hitting the streets…Belly Casting. A belly cast is a sculpture of your belly to keep long after your pregnancy has ended. Belly casting can be done at home or professionally. Normally the cast is done from the breasts to the bottom of the belly. This shows the full pregnancy body in all of its glory.
Now that I look at my two-year-old running around and being crazy, I wonder what my belly really looked like while I was pregnant. I can’t remember. I asked my mom what she thought about this new craze and she said that her pregnancy belly was something she didn’t want to remember. I don’t know for sure that I would like to have one of these hanging around, I mean, what do you do with it? But it would be funny to actually compare my belly now to big pregnant belly.
Now I bet your wondering what a belly cast looks like. There are a few variatites that I have seen, including a plain white cast, painted casts and fully decorated casts. Some casts are decorated just by being painted while some are adorned with feathers, wings, bows or most anything else.
Rock on, another way to celebrate pregnancy. Not something I would be willing to pay the $60+ for, but something neat none-the-less.
