The best part about Valentine’s Day is handing out valentines, especially if you are in grade school. The challenge lies in creating a valentine that is unique and special. One adorable option is lollipop roses.

MATERIALS (makes 12 valentines)
- (12) nametages made from decorative paper
- pen
- scissors
- 6-7 feet of thin, pretty ribbon or string
- (48) squares of tissue paper, four inches on each side (feel free to experiment with different colors)
- (12) dum-dum lollipops or heart-shaped lollipops
- Green floral tape
DIRECTIONS
- Write who the valentine is to and from on each nametag.
- Make a small hole in the end of each nametag. Thread an approximately five inch long ribbon through each nametag and tie the loose ends together. Leave about one inch of extra ribbon on each side of the knot.
- Use the left over ends of the ribbon to tie it to the base of the lollipop securely. You can cut off any excess ribbon if you desire.
- Take four squares of tissue paper and round out the corners to make them more circular. Then scallop the edges all around. Do one piece of paper at a time so that each one is unique.
- Stack the four pieces of tissue papper on top of each other.
- Push the lollipop stick through the middle of the tissue paper.
- Slide the tissue paper all the way up to the base of the lollipop, almost smooshing the ribbon. Adjust the layers to you liking.

- Use the floral tape to wrap around the base where the tissue paper and the lollipop meet. Wrap this spot a few times. Then wrap down the rest of the stick and back up again. Finish by wrapping around the base a few more times. Do not adjust the bottom layer of tissue paper once wrapping is complete. Note: when using floral tape, you need to stretch it slightly while you wrap for it to stick properly.
A cute way to trasport your floral Valentines. fill a shallow basket with styrofoam and cover it with fake grass or moss. You can push the “stems” of your flowers into the styrofoam. Now you have a bouquet filled with love!
