At the beginning of day one she had never peed on her potty and after a few accidents she is using the potty on her own. This idea was amazing im sharing it with all the mothers i know! We modified it a bit. We did use diapers for naps and bedtime after three days of him waking up wet. Eventually we were able to drop the diapers at nap time but we are still working on night time. We are actually on DAY 1 with our 17 month old. She may be a bit young but my oldest was 16 months when she was day and night trained so I figured what the heck! :) I did this method with my 21 month old son three years ago and it worked! It was hard and there will be accidents. The author makes that very clear in the book. Accidents are part of the method actually. I think that once you start it, you just have to keep going. But it does get better if you stick to a plan. But some kids do just need more time. Give your little guy a few more months and see what happens. I have tried using cloth diapers so that the wet is more uncomfortable than in a regular diaper. It took a while for my son to get uncomfortable in them even still but it did help me to be aware of how often he was actually going. I saw that he could hold it for a really long time. I then noticed a pattern developing and then would sit him on the toilet when I knew he had to go. Hope that helps!:) Day one usually is just a whole lot of pee on the floor.
