In Alice Springs Australia, a 19-year old woman was arrested after driving and breastfeeding, while under the influence of alcohol. Apparently, the young woman almost hit a police vehicle after driving out of a pub parking lot erratically on Saturday night. The police officers noticed an infant at the breast of the driver and immediately pulled over the vehicle.
Police reported that the woman was so drunk, she couldn’t perform the breathalyzer test. The five-month infant was not harmed in anyway and was taken to stay with relatives. The mother is currently in custody and waiting on her April 23rd hearing. Police believe that if they hadn’t seen the woman driving with the infant in her arms, both would’ve been at high risk for a fatal accident.
This is one of the craziest stories I’ve ever heard. I can’t believe a parent could be so incompetent. It’s bad enough she was driving under the influence, but involving her infant daughter and breastfeeding at the same time is just ridiculous.
