so far... I have had it for 4 months now... I use it almost everyday for a half hour walk in the park with my son in it... he is now 7 months and PRETTY heavy... no sign on any wear and tear...

as for comfort wise... i was initially doubtful about wearing canvas... once i tried it, it was pretty nice... no rough abrasions... it is not as soft as some sling but on a comfort scale of 1-10, I would rate it as an 7 or 8...

good thing about this strap is that it is fixed front and back... not being able the adjust the length bugged me at first but once i wore it... it was COMFY... its weakness proved to be the strongest point for me... the fixed front and back allowed me to wear it easily and put my baby in quickly... I tried some Mei Tais with adjustable backs and they were a pain to put on...

I am 5'11'' and my wife is 5'5'' and both of us are comfortable using the strap.

have you tried the Japanese strap from www.zuigeling.com?
we got ours a few months ago and I find it to be easier to use and more secure than a wrap. I find the strap to be less warm and more secure than the wrap. check it out :)
