Earth Day Activities

So your kids know what Earth Day is and how to help the Earth, but now they want to have fun. Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered (no guarantees that it’s not dirt, though).

Naturally, the first and best Earth Day activity is recycling. Now don’t go parental on me. Recycling doesn’t have to mean sorting the garbage and taking it to the recycling center. For kids, recycling means making toilet paper tube puppets, games, and wreaths. If you’re afraid that might be misconstrued as work, go out and play – literally.

Visit your local State Park and take in some of the activities that are hosted there. You could even plan a camp-out. See how small of a carbon footprint you can leave during your stay.
