Glow In The Dark Dogs

By Yosef Solomon on April 28th, 2009

In Seoul South Korea scientists have been able to genetically modify four beagle dogs, allowing them to glow in the dark. Through what Lee Byeong-chun, a professor at Seoul National University, calls transgenic canine’s, these puppies are able to carry fluorescent genes allowing various parts of there body to glow.

From there nails to there abdomens, these amazing animals have a light red glow to them that can be seen clearly at night. Each of the 3 dogs had florescent genes inserted into there body as an experiment to see if genes can be implanted. After this successful procedure, scientists now believe they will be able to cure more animal diseases through similar cloning.

I don’t know how I’d feel about having glow in the dark puppies. It seems a bit to artificial to me. Hopefully, these experiments actually lead to more advancements in animal health and cure diseases. How do you think your kids would react to glow in the dark dogs?

Take a look at the glowing dogs video here.

I can’t imagine having glow in the dark dogs. Sounds like something out of a Stephen King Movie.
