Meet Elizabeth Adeney. This 66 year-old UK native will be giving birth next month, a few weeks before her 67th birthday. Adeney’s case raises questions of ethics and legality due to her age and use of IVF treatment. Not being able to have the treatment done in the UK, Adeney traveled to Ukraine, where doctor’s implanted a donor egg in her body.
Doctors were shocked to see the treatment actually work due to Adeney’s age. They’re now taking the necessary precautions to make sure the delivery is smooth and without complications.
Adeney, who currently works as a Managing Director of a plastics and textiles company in the UK, is well off financially. According to reports from The Sun, Adeney gave birth at such an old age so that her child would inherit her money.
