In yet another recall this past week, the FDA advises consumers to be aware of the suggested dosage amounts in children’s multi-vitamins. According to reports released last week by the FDA, parents should know that, “The label currently indicates a suggested use of 1 chewable tablet for ages 3-5 and 2-3 chewable tablets for ages 6-12. The label should read ages 4-16 take 1 chewable tablet daily.”

It is unclear what specific locations carry these vitamins, but we’ve compiled a list of brands you should know are being recalled:

DaVinci Laboratories of Vermont Kid’s Mighty Vites (90 tablet bottle)
FoodScience of Vermont Kids Superior (90 tablet bottle)
Mountain Naturals of Vermont Kid’s Superior (90 tablet bottle)
Sherlock Vitamins Smart Strong Focus (60 tablet bottle)
Elders International, Inc. M10-8® Kids IQ Secret (90 tablet bottle)
Guyer Institute HEALTHY KIDS MV (90 tablet bottle)

The brands and products included in the recall were all shipped from March to June of 2009. The countries included in the distribution were the United States, Denmark and Kenya. Fortunately no major reports of over-dosage or poisoning have been reported.
