The nationwide Dunkin’ Donuts chain is recalling all milk and whey protein packages used for coffee and hot chocolate after suppliers warned of possible salmonella contamination. Dunkin’ Donuts, which serves over 3 million people a day in 6,400 locations around the nation, is the country’s largest donut chain.

As of now, DD has stopped selling hot chocolate and “Dunkaccino” to prevent from any contamination outbreaks. Although this recall was voluntary by the supplier, Plainview Milk Products Cooperative, Dunkin’ Donuts aren’t taking any chances.

Circumstances such as these are unfortunate for large chain establishments like DD, especially when they have no control over it. Recalls automatically warn customers about eating at these restaurants and often tainting their public image. This is a big blow to DD, especially considering the fact that we’re in one of the worst recessions of our time.

That’s a good point. I just think that people are in love with the convenience of coffee on the go.

That image of the pink frosted donut looks divine. Sorry. Off-topic
