Still haven’t decided what you’re doing for the fourth of July? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Check out the events to make this year memorable! There are some major parades and fireworks shows in the line-up around the country. If you’re nearby, make a date with your family and head out to celebrate America!

Washington DC
National Independence Day Parade – Starts at 11:45 and runs along Constitution Avenue from 7th to 17th Street. It’s the biggest parade in Washington, and what better way to show your kids what it’s all about than being surrounded by our great nation’s monuments of freedom?

A Capitol Fourth – America’s parade leads to America’s concert and fireworks show. I’ve been watching this since I was a kid and never tire of it from year to year. The amazement begins at 8:00 on the lawn of the Capitol. Watch if from home on your local PBS station.

Philadelphia
Sunoco Welcome America – July 4th Parade in Philadelphia – Starts at 11:00 at 5th and Chestnut and winds its way through historic Philadelphia. Mayor Michael A. Nutter will be present with some surprise guests to make it a great parade.

The Largest Free Concert in America – Philly’s got it goin’ on with Sheryl Crow! The Concert begins at 8:00 and is followed by a pyrotechnic blast (pun totally intended) at Ben Franklin Parkway.

Boston
Boston Harborfest – The parade starts at 9:00, then head to the Old State House at 10:00. The Declaration of Independence will be read from balcony at State and Devonshire Streets like it was on July 18, 1776.

Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular – Join the fabulous Boston Pops Orchestra at 8:30 for the 36th annual concert and fireworks show that has wowed millions. You can enjoy the show on your local CBS station as well.

New York City
Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks – Called a “Pyrotechnic Extravaganza,” Macy’s is holding its 33rd annual show on the Hudson River this year to celebrate the 400th anniversary of Henry Hudson’s discovery. New York City will be treated to a show at 9 o’clock. Get there early for good seats!

San Diego
Big Bay Boom – At 9:00, four barges will set of fireworks simultaneously and in conjunction with live music broadcast at 105.7. Wow.

San Francisco
Pier 39 Fourth of July Waterfront Celebration – Concerts start at 1:00 and the Bay fireworks show starts at 9:30 to music broadcast at 98.1. A number of pier merchants will be open after the fireworks so you can shop, grab a bite, and avoid traffic.

Wherever you’re at, get out and celebrate freedom with us!

Took part in San Diego’s “Big Bay Boom” this year, and it was great! Would recommend it to any! Although, you might want to get there early. Get’s pretty crowded.
