It’s another yummy holiday, boys and girls! Pecan Pie Day is here for all to enjoy. America’s favorite custard pie turns 84 this year, according to the earliest recipe found in print in 1925. Southern culinary tradition tells us that the French invented pecan pie after settling in New Orleans, when the Native Americans introduced them to the pecan. Fannie Farmer and The Joy of Cooking were late to the scene, including pecan pie recipes in 1940.

So who wants pecan pie? Grab the pecans and the corn syrup and let’s get baking!
