Did you ever think about doing something but then didn’t do it because you were afraid? What about that book that’s floating around in your head, or the road trip along Route 66? How about skydiving or riding a unicycle? Well, today is the day – it’s All or Nothing Day! Give it your all today, whatever “it” is. Whether it’s being a parent, a clown, or a cashier, commit yourself to being the absolute best you can be. So many times in life we do just the minimum required to get by. What if we did everything we could? Gave 110%, as the coaches say. Just for today, put all your effort and energy into whatever you do. Let your kids see you pouring your heart into something.

Today is one big teachable moment. Talk to your kids about commitment and perserverance and endurance. Do something that’s hard for you and let your kids cheer you on to victory. Then help your kids do something that’s hard for them. Make today a day your kids will remember, not for the fun things that you did with them, but for the lessons you taught them.

Today, I’m going to finally sit down and actually begin the book that I’ve had bouncing around my head since I was pregnant with my son. Almost nine years is long enough to wait, I think. What will you do today?
