On August 6, 2009, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission along with Graco Children’s Products Inc. issued a recall for approx. 2,400 Jump ‘n Jive Doorway Jumpers because they included toys that can become detached during use and be a choking hazard. If you have purchased one of these products you are being advised to stop use immediately. The toys are attached to the jumper straps with the strips of hook and loop fabric. The strips of fabric are not permanently attached to the toys and can be removed.
This product was sold at Babies R Us and other children’s retails stores, as well as Amazon.com from April 2009 until July 2009 for about $55. It included an interactive musical dance mat and two detachable toys. The model number, 1755544, appears on the carton UPC label and on the underside of the jumper tray.
The recall was issued after a report of a child removing the fabric strip and placing it in their mouth. No Injuries have been reported.
If you do have one of these products, remove and discard the detachable toys and the attaching fabric strips. Call the manufacturer and you will receive a replacement set of toys. Once you have removed the detachable toys and fabric, you may continue use of the jumper.
