		<description>Hi Akela,
It is great to see some discussion of this topic, though I think of attachment parenting (merely a term coined by Dr Sears to describe the parenting style of many more natural cultures) as the traditional parenting style!

You mention Elimination Communication, which is obviously new to you - thanks for not bagging the concept outright! It is a fun activity to fold into one&#039;s daily activities with baby, and yes, they do wear diapers between potty visits, for as long as you wish them to, or they need to.

Also called &#039;EC&#039; or &quot;Infant Potty Training&quot;, it is a cumbersome term to be sure for a practice as old as mothers and still the norm in many countries on earth, and not (as I can see replies coming) just as they can&#039;t afford dispopsable diapers. It was just what is done.

Diapers make it easier for us to practice EC in our modernised countries, with our carpets and busy lives - and using reusable cloth diapers combined with EC means our environmental footprint and spending is reduced as well.

Charndra

P.S May I post a link to my site on EC? It has an online guide helping moms re-discover their confidence in this ancient technique, and a lot of my members (well over 800) DO work outside the home - and so are part-time diaper free!
