‘Toy Story Mania!’ – Video Game Preview

When Pixar released their movie Toy Story almost 15 years ago, they started a blemish-free string of movies that have a become a greatly anticipated yearly tradition. The Toy Story franchise has already produced a sequel and in 2010 will release a third one. There have been two rides opened so far at the Disneyland, California Adventure and Disney World theme-parks: A Buzz Lightyear shooting gallery style ride where you use your laser to help defeat the evil Emperor Zurg, accumulating points along the way and a similar styled ride called Toy Story Mania!, a 4-D ride where you compete in a wide variety of carnival games and accumulate points. These rides are some of the most entertaining in each park and are well worth the time to get on them.

Well finally, you don’t have to wait anymore, Nintendo and Disney have teamed up to release a version of the Toy Story Mania! ride for their Wii platform. This will be perfect for the entire family. It doesn’t require much explanation and because it’s from Pixar, you know it will be suitable for young eyes and ears. With 10 games (some adapted right from the ride), many mini-games and even some bonus levels in 3-D, everyone will be entertained and having fun. Throw pies, shoot darts at balloons, shoot targets, ring toss and more, these types are games are what you can expect, just with a Toy Story twist.

Perfect for parties and family nights where something needs to be done as a group and keep every one’s attention. Work to unlock the bonus levels or other hidden “Easter Eggs” and compete (or cooperate) with family or friends to get top prizes in the game. When something has the Pixar label on it, history tells us that it will be a quality family experience that will entertain everyone.
