Levi Johnston to Pose for Playgirl; Levi Johnston Only One Who Cares

By Kelly Turner on September 16th, 2009

Levi Johnston has agreed to pose for Playgirl, with final negotiations currently underway.

If you don’t know who Levi Johnston is, he is the babbydaddy to Bristol Palin, ex Republican vice president candidate Sarah Palin’s teenage daughter.

Levi’s bodyguard/manager (why does he need this?) said of Levi and his decision:

“You’ve got to understand that you’re dealing with a young man here, and what he has done is he’s broadened his horizons…Sometimes, some things happen for a reason…and [Levi's] eyes are open, so we don’t care what kind of situation it is or who views the magazine.”

He has said, however, nude is out of the question.

I don’t quite understand why this boy is relevant.  He is the impregnanter of the daughter of someone who ran for office and lost.  The only thing I’ve ever heard him say is how Sarah Palin is “snobby” and everything she has ever done is motivated by money.  And I’m sure he’s posing nude for the art, not for the dough. Oh, wait.

Levi has become somewhat of a gay sex symbol, probably because of his moderately good looks and affinity for bashing opponent of same sex marriage Sarah Palin.  Another gay icon, Kathy Griffin, took him to the Teen Choice Awards.  However, it seems the poor thing doesn’t even understand his biggest fans; or what Playgirl is.  He said in a recent interview: “I’m assuming it’s where a dude poses for women.”

Ah, just because you can knock one up doesn’t mean you understand us women, dear Levi. Women do not read these magazines. Men read these magazines. Men who are interested in other men. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

I will never be able to understand what it is with kids and young adults and their drive to be famous by any means necessary- or at whatever level attainable.  Some “lucky” enough will be asked to pose nude for magazines and stir the media pot for a whole four minutes, or appear on a reality TV show and some resort to posting sexy pictures of themselves on Facebook or stupid videos of themselves doing stupid things on YouTube for a little attention.  These days, you don’t need to be talented or special to be famous; famous is the goal, and the opportunities follow.  Perhaps the people interviewing and continuing to talk about this odd sub-sect of celebrities that are “famous for being famous” are actually the ones to blame.

Dammit, that’s me.
