Jessica Simpson Refuses to Give Up Hope on Lost Dog, Daisy

By Amber Ortega on September 17th, 2009

Jessica-Simpson-DogBeginning Monday night, Jessica Simpson began tweeting about the heart-wrenching story of her little maltipoo Daisy being taken by a coyote right in front of their eyes. “My heart is broken because a coyote took my precious Daisy right in front of our eyes. HORROR!” I know her heart was broken, mine would be if I saw my little dog be taken away by a big, mean coyote.

My family was devastated when our dog, Sally got loose and was gone for an entire day. We searched and searched until she finally got tired and came back home. We live in area with lots of coyotes as well. After we searched the area for hours and checked with animal control, we told the kids that Sally probably wasn’t coming back. The kids cried, and my daughter wanted to keep walking around the neighborhood calling for her. I told the kids that Sally ran away and might not be able to find her way home. We searched, but there wasn’t much more we could do. We had spoken with the neighbors and they hadn’t seen her. I was pretty confident she was gone because there are a lot of kids around here and they all know Sally belongs to us, someone would have told us if she ran off. We were lucky that Sally found her way home, but we were prepared that we would possibly never see our pet again.

Although Jessica Simpson saw her dog taken by a coyote, she still keeps up hope that her tiny little dog will find its way home.  She has hired Find Toto to call 1,000 of her closest neighbors to ask if they had seen the pooch.  She tweeted on Wednesday evening, “”Still holding out hope despite the assholes that say is it a dumb thing to do. Daisy is my baby…why would I stop searching? I’m a mom.“   Okay, now I totally understand she wants her dog back, but seriously?  She saw the dog get taken by a coyote.  There is no way a little maltipoo could escape the jaws of a coyote.  Doesn’t she know that?

I think her mother needs to sit her down and have a heart-to-heart with her.  She needs to understand that things like this happen and we all know that Daisy is gone.  The poor dog didn’t stand a chance.  I know it is a hard thing to deal with, but as an adult she needs to realize that he beloved dog will not be back.  I know she feels like she is a mother, but there is a huge difference between a child and a dog.  She is not a “mom”, if she were, she would have hunted down that coyote herself.  A mother would never allow her child to be taken by a coyote.  I know she misses her dog, but it gets to a point where she needs to put on her big girl panties and deal with the loss.  Daisy will not be back, it’s a tough thing to deal with, but at some point, you must realize the truth.
