“Stoned” as in got high, not pelted with rocks.
The CDC (Centers for Disease Control) released a report stating five Los Angeles area preschool teachers inadvertently ate pot brownies while on the job.
The teacher who brought in the brownies for her colleagues told investigators that she bought them two days earlier from a street vendor who claimed to be selling them for a church fundraiser. The unlabeled brownies cost $1.50 each which means they couldn’t have been very strong and came individually wrapped in plastic. The teacher didn’t eat any but said her adult son had eaten some before she brought them to the school (and probably preceded to playing X-Box all day.)
About half an hour after one of the teachers ate the brownie, the CDC report said, the preschool director and the administrator observed them becoming sleepy and dizzy and suffering shortness of breath, with tingling and numbness in her face, forehead and arms.
The preschool director contacted the pastor of the church that the brownies were supposedly being sold to raise money for. The pastor said no such fundraiser existed, and called the Los Angeles Police Department. Police suspected a case of food-borne contamination and notified the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health the following day, the CDC report said.
All six people who ate the brownies told authorities that they had never used marijuana or any illegal drugs. Yea, right.
Two teachers sought medical attention, but all were permitted to finish teaching the rest of the day.
This happened in my high school once. A kid brought some pot brownies to school and gave them out to some friends, one of which was caught eating it in class. The unsuspecting teacher took the brownie from him and ate it. It ultimately ended in a few suspensions, but mostly a very interesting and entertaining class by said teacher about how awesome the movie “Singing in the Rain” is.
Just something to think about next time you stop off to pick up some cupcakes right before the school Bake Sale because you were too busy to make them yourself.
