RECALL – MAXI-COSI Child Safety Seats

By Jeremy Suede on September 22nd, 2009

Maxi-cosi-MDDorel Juvenile Group has issued a recall of more than 28,000 MAXI-COSI child safety seats because there is a flaw that could cause a child to be injured if involved in a crash.  The affected models are:

  • MAXI-COSI/22-371 (MICO)
  • MAXI-COSI/22-372 (MICO)
  • MAXI-COSI/22-515 (MICO)

It could be difficult to attach or detach the infant-safety seat from the base because it may get warped. If the infant-safety seat’s shell is not mounted correctly to the base a child could be injured if a crash occurs.  These models were sold between July 2007 and February 17, 2008 at various retail stores around the country.

If you or anyone you know has purchased one of these models and has not already been contacted by the manufacturer, please call 877-657-9546 and Dorel will start the process of refunding.  Consumers may also contact the National Highway Safety Administration’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit their website www.safercar.gov for more information.
