HulkVSThe most powerful creature on Earth, The Hulk, just can’t seem to catch a break.  First he has to fight Marvel’s most popular character; Wolverine and then he has to battle the God of Thunder himself; Thor.

Watch the big green behemoth smash his way through this DVD which is actually two movies in one.  Each is full of action and all around comic book goodness that your kids will want to watch over and over again.  It is rated PG-13 and that should be followed because of the violence and blood.  So keeping the little kids out of the room would probably be wise.  The violence and blood in question though is nothing you wouldn’t see in an actual comic book so use your best judgment as to who can watch and who can’t.

When Hulk goes on a destructive rampage across the Canadian wilderness, only Wolverine can do what needs to be done to stop him.  Wolverine stumbles across Bruce Banner in the mountains and unknowingly goads him into transforming into the Hulk.  From there, the action just escalates and hardly slows as other popular characters show up, such as Sabretooth, Deadpool and Omega Red to name a few.  Plus there are some great action sequences and a no-holds-bared fight between Hulk and Wolverine.  This is the reason for the PG-13 rating, Wolverine doesn’t hold back with his claws in this cartoon.  The story becomes more about Wolverine with the Hulk as a special guest but Hulk makes his presence very well known throughout.

In the other story on this DVD, the God of Mischief, Loki, finds a way to seize control of Hulk and attempts to take control over Asgard.  Only Thor, with some unlikely allies, can bring down the Hulk once he is accidentally let loose upon Asgard.  This is actually the better story of the two with some incredible fight scenes and accompanying score that is motion picture worthy.  You get a better sense of just how powerful the Hulk is when even the Gods themselves need help and still have trouble defeating him.  Great story to go along with beautifully animated sequences.

Both tales are told with great animation and scripts that will entertain kids and adults alike.  Plus, it’s a good thing to watch in anticipation of the “Thor” movie starring Chris Hemsworth set to be released summer of 2010.  Just remember that there is some violence and to make sure any little ones are not watching.

Go ahead, “cave” and let the kids pick this movie out, not only will you score some Cool Points with them but you will enjoy it all at the same time.  A very well spent hour.
