Until now, the bane of every kid’s (and parents) existence was keeping track of all the different games they owned. Discs or cartridges could easily get lost while being lugged around.  But now Sony is releasing the next generation of mobile gaming consoles with their PSP Go and the world of video games will never be the same. There will be no external games to mess with, everything will be downloaded wirelessly and stored on the internal Flash hard drive.

No more disc cases to carry.  No more going out to buy a new game.  No more peripherals.  Everything is handled wirelessly with the PSP Go’s Bluetooth capability.  It won’t just be games available either.  Movies, TV shows and music will also be available for download.  It comes standard with a 16 GB capacity which Sony says is more than enough for the average gamer.  They also pointed out that an extra Memory Stick Micro could be purchased, upping the memory to 32 GB.  You don’t have to worry about them downloading anything and everything; a credit or debit card authorization will be required, so limiting what they download is all up to you.

With its new design comes a brighter but smaller screen, only 3.8″ compared to PSP 3000’s 4.3″.  The controls are also different because the screen slides up, revealing the directional pad and buttons.  This forces the hands closer together and the adjustment may be a little weird to longtime PSP users.

You also have the ability to play multiplayer sessions with other PSP Go users in your area using the Bluetooth features.  This sleeker, lighter and brighter gadget will be ever gamers favorite travel accessory.  Waiting in airport terminals could be like an arcade with everyone linked in playing the games against each other.  And because it’s small with a lack of peripherals, it easily fits in a pocket and weighs just as much as an average cell phone (6.7 oz with battery) so it will not be bulky or cumbersome.

The console will be released on October 1, 2009 with an initial price of $249 and available across the country in major retailers.  Sony will still be making games and accessories for the PSP 3000 so if you don’t plan on upgrading to the Go, don’t worry.  But if you do plans on buying a PSP Go for your kids (or significant other), I’d buy two because once you see how cool it is you will want one yourself.

Wow this is wonderful new Sony's PSP technology available on next G. Mobiles. I think this the best idea for planning to change us mobile when it will launch.
