Jon Gosselin is at it again. Can he do anything else to make himself look like more of a selfish, low-life, piece of….well, know where I’m heading with this. During an interview for the “Today” show, Kate Gosselin was fighting back tears when she stated that Jon took $230,000 of the $231,000 they had in a joint checking account. This left her without enough money to pay their bills or care for the children. Good job there Jon, way to be a man.
Jon’s lawyer, Mark J. Heller stated that Jon only took $170,000 out of the account and he believes, “Jon has not withdrawn any money for his own remuneration” and that “It is not unlikely…that Jon will be awarded substantial additional funds.”
Are you serious? Jon is throwing a temper tantrum because he got fired from the show. He will not allow the cameras in to film anymore and has now taken the money that Kate needs to care for their kids. What is wrong with him? Even taking $170,000 is ridiculous, if that was really all he took. Doesn’t he realize that she is still caring for their children?
Children try to be left out of a divorce as much as possible. It is already hard enough for them to deal with the parents splitting, but when one acts like Jon is, things get worse. When the kids see Kate in distress, they know it is because of something their dad did. It isn’t right. The kids should see the best of each of them, not be subject to the heartache and turmoil they are causing each other.
To make things worse, the couple had a joint account during their marriage. During their separation it was stated that neither could make a withdraw from this account. Kate was allowed to write checks to pay for household bills. What makes Jon think it is okay to remove such a large amount of money from a “joint” account?
Luckily Kate has set aside money for the children, which has not been touched. Kate states, “Financially, the kids are protected. They have the fund that I set up for them, that was my long-term goal. It is secure and substantial … and it is safe. I had the presence of mind to start that on my own. That’s what I want for them, for their future to be secure.”
I’m wondering though, if Kate is on the “Today” show and Jon is out spending the $230,000 he just withdrew, who is watching the kids? Where are they? Geesh, this family is just messed up all the way around.
