Do you know someone who’d like to see two of the most popular comic characters of all time face off against pretty much every villain (and some heroes) in a knock-down, drag-out, free for all brawl?  Then DC Comics’ newest animated DVD, “Superman/Batman: Public Enemies,”  is the one for that person.  Go ahead and admit it, you want to see it too.  A great action packed movie that the whole family can enjoy.

“Superman/Batman: Public Enemies” pits the two title characters against almost every villain in the DC Comics Universe because a $1 billion bounty has been placed on Superman’s head by, United States President, Lex Luthor.  Yes, I said PRESIDENT Lex Luthor.  After events pass (much like our current events) Lex is elected president and uses an oncoming Kryptonite meteor as an excuse to deem Superman crazy and that is where the bounty comes in.  Of course every villain in their right mind is going to try for money so they all converge on Superman who is already working with Batman to stop the meteor.  Our heroes must work together and through their opposing styles to save each other and the world in ways no one else can.  The result is a great movie filled with plenty of big fights and action that will keep any kids interest.

There is a PG-13 rating and, to be honest, I think it is most likely from size and prominence of Power Girl’s boobs. (We don’t want to just post the photo for all to see, but you can check it out HERE).  Her boobs have always been a running joke amongst DC fans and this movie certainly doesn’t stray away.  There are references (not directly) to them and jokes so kids may ask, though.  She is only in the movie for a couple minutes but they are a very noticeable couple minutes.  But besides that, there isn’t much other than a couple of low level curse words (”bitch,” “ass”) and the obvious comic book violence that one would expect from a movie like this.  If your kids are old enough to watch Superman or Batman cartoons on TV, they can watch this.

One of the best parts of “Superman/Batman: Public Enemies” is the reuniting of the original voice cast of Kevin Conroy (Batman), Tim Daly (Superman) and Clancy Brown (Lex Luthor) because they are regarded as the true voices for the characters by fans.  Their voices fit the characters perfectly and they have been doing the characters long enough to know them better than anyone. DC has once again hit a homerun after their previous release Green Lantern: First Flight, and the amount of characters included in this one only makes it better.  Appearances by Power Girl, Capt. Atom, Metallo, Gorilla Grod, Solomon Grundy, Mongol and many more keep the story moving along fast.  If anything, kids can get great ideas for Halloween costumes with all those superheroes flying around.  GetGreatCostumes.com has great superhero costumes for everyone in the family and all the accesories to complete the look.

Go out and pick this up for the family, you and your kids will love the great story with action packed fights and perfect voice acting.  ‘Superman/Batman: Public Enemies’ will be a super-powered hit in your house.

Tim Daly is the best voice of Superman ever. I'm glad that he is back as Supes.
