Just in time for the holiday, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission along with Coyne’s & Co. have issued a recall for their Haunted House Screen Tea Light Candle Holders. There are window panes on the screens that can possibly ignite and pose a fire hazard to surrounding areas. Consumers are urged to stop use immediately.
They were sold exclusively at Yankee Candle stores nationwide and at the YankeeCandle.com website for about $25. Coyne’s & Co. estimate that about 7,800 of these products were sold. The haunted house screen tea light holders are made of black metal with a coating on the glass windows. The house measures 15″ wide by 15″ high by 4″ deep and can hold up to six tea lights. Tea light candles are not involved in this recall. Coynes has received three reports of the panes catching fire but no injuries have been reported.
If you or someone you know has one of these products, stop using it immediately and return it to the store for a complete refund. For more information please contact Coyne’s & Co. at 800-336-8666, send an email to CustServ@coynes.com or visit their website Coynes.com.
