***THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED***

Delicious and Nutritious- doesn’t get much better than that!

Goji Gourmet are real healthy cookies that actually taste like real cookies.  These little guys are delicious, packed with superfoods (walnuts, ginger, almonds, oats, cocoa, etc.) antioxidants, and organic goji berries.

They come in 4 fantastic flavors, with even more fantastic ingredient lists.  Usually, cookies ingredient lists are a combination of refined flour and sugars.  Check some of the ingredients out in these bad boys:

Goji Orange MintChip- Organic white whole wheat flour, organic goji berries, natural buckwheat honey, organic butter, raw turbinado sugar

Goji Almond Oat- Organic white whole wheat flour, organic goji berries, organic oats, natural buckwheat honey, natural almonds

Goji Ginger Walnut- Organic white whole wheat flour, organic goji berries, organic crystallized ginger, natural buckwheat honey, natural walnuts

Goji Cherry Cocoa- Organic white whole wheat flour, organic goji berries, natural buckwheat honey, organic cacao powder, dried cherries

They are low calorie (100 calories per 4 cookies), low carb, and delicious.  They are also low sugar, as Goji Gourmet prefers to use buckwheat honey instead of refined sugar and are preservative-free, so they are just like fresh baked, with the taste and texture to match.

Goji Gourmet and Kidglue.com are giving 1 lucky winner 1 large bag of each flavor of cookies- 4 bags total.

HOMEMADE TREATS FOR FIDO, PUFF.(At Home)

The Cincinnati Post (Cincinnati, OH) May 13, 2006 Byline: Cathy Filian and Steve Piacenza DIY Network Spoiling your pet does not mean you have to spend the big bucks on rhinestone doggie fashions and diva cat beds. We spoil our pets by baking them homemade dog treats and making kooky catnip bubbles.

We call the dog treats “disappearing treats” because, with Striker and Max, they never last long. With a few simple ingredients you, too, can bake up these treats at a fraction of the retail price. homemadedogtreatsnow.com homemade dog treats

Heidi, however, reaches Kitty Nirvana with our kooky homemade catnip bubbles. Heidi loves jumping and catching soap bubbles, and, with the added scent of catnip, she keeps busy.

Catnip bubbles are easy to make and, by making them yourself, you will save tons of money even as you keep your cat friends happy.

Disappearing Treats for Dogs 5 tablespoons margarine 3/4 cup hot water 1/2 cup powdered milk 1 teaspoon salt 1 egg, beaten 3 cups whole-wheat flour Nonstick cooking spray Yield: 1 pound of treats Place the margarine in a large bowl. Pour the hot water over the margarine. Stir in powdered milk, salt and the beaten egg. Add flour, a half-cup at a time.

Knead the mixture for a few minutes to form a stiff dough. Pat or roll the dough to 1/2-inch thickness. (Flour your rolling pin as needed.) Have oven heating to 325 degrees.

Using a bone-shaped cookie cutter, cut the shapes and arrange on a large baking sheet coated with nonstick cooking spray. this web site homemade dog treats

Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes. Cool on a rack. This recipe will make just over 1 pound of treats. Allow the treats to dry hard and then store in a container with tight lid.

You can make training treats by using little scoops of dough and cutting the baking time in half.

Kooky catnip bubbles 1 small bottle of non-toxic bubbles Catnip essential oil Add a few drops of catnip essential oil (available at health food stores and online) to the bubble solution in its bottle. You can add more or fewer drops, depending on your cat’s reaction. I suggest testing the bubbles on your cat by blowing them into the air and looking to see your cat’s reaction. If your cat reacts, then your recipe is complete. If not, add a few more drops until you notice a reaction. Each cat is different, so play with the amount of oil until you get the right mixture for your cat.

Editor’s note: Some cats are terrified of bubbles moving through the air. Try blowing some in the air in a large space, with the cat still some distance away. Their natural curiosity will overcome initial fear.
