“Avatar,” out December 18, is the first film from director James Cameron (“Terminator,” “Aliens,” “True Lies”) since his little 1997 film “Titanic.”
None of those movies are appropriate for kids, really, but this one looks like it’s going to be his most family friendly – by FAR. They are releasing toys and everything.
The film is about a crippled marine in the future who puts his mind into an artificial body that is made to look like an alien race. He is then supposed to infiltrate that alien race so the humans can take all of their resources. What begins is a nature vs. technology battle shot with some of the most advanced, 3D filmmaking technology in the world.
