From 6 PM to midnight on October 31st, Taco Bell will be giving away one free Black Jack Taco to anyone who asks for one. The Black Jack Taco has a crispy black taco shell, and is normally priced at 89 cents.
Taco Bell is the official Quick Service Restaurant of Major League Baseball, and as such has hosted numerous special offers over the years. Last year’s offer, “Steal a Base, Steal a Taco” related to a World Series game in which a player was able to steal a base. This year’s offer has no direct tie-in to baseball, but it’s still fun and a nice gesture.
There will probably be many stores and restaurants featuring special deals on Halloween, and a good percentage of those will involve candy. In the Bay Area where I live, there’s a good chance some of those places will have sugar-free candy, or otherwise healthy treats for kids (and adults!). Despite what one might say about the actual quality of Taco Bell’s ingredients, I’ve found it to be one of the least offensive large food chains in the United States. The Black Jack Taco looks tasty, and at least it’s not a fistful of sugar!

I'd rather my kids have a bucket full of HFCS than ground up dead cow, plastic cheese and "special sauce" in a shell :)
