Child stroller mmaclaren_quest_strolleranufacturer Maclaren is poised to announce a massive recall of strollers Tuesday amidst concerns that the strollers can injure kids’ fingers.

Reports indicate that as many as a dozen children had their fingertips amputated after being injured by a hinge on Maclaren strollers. Maclaren is expected to provide customers with a repair kit including a cover for the dangerous hinge.

Every Maclaren stroller sold since 1999 is included in the recall, which amounts to one million strollers. If you own a Maclaren stroller, be advised that you should stop using it immediately and await the announcement of the exact model numbers that are included in the recall. That information will be available at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission website.

At this point, Maclaren has not released an official statement regarding the recall.

Parents take note of some other recent recalls too. T&L recalled some baby pacifiers. Also, Daiso recalled several toys.

You don't need to stop using your stroller, that's a little overly dramatic. Just don't let your kid get in the stroller or play around the frame while you are unfolding it. You don't put your baby in a pack-n-play while it's still folded up, why should a stroller be any different?
