Nebraskan Mom Takes Down Drug Ring For Her Kids

By Akela Talamasca on November 9th, 2009

bildeAuthorities in Omaha, Nebraska have managed to break up a methamphetamine ring, seizing $500,000 worth of illegal drugs, all thanks to one working mother. The unnamed wife of one Anuar Nunez, currently serving 15 years for selling meth out of his body shop, saw how badly their children missed their father, so she phoned the Omaha Police Department’s Detective Edith Andersen to make a deal with her: she would ingratiate herself into the local meth scene and act as an informant in exchange for shaving time off her husband’s sentence.

Over the course of nearly a year, she made contacts and gained the trust of two connected dealers, leading to their imprisonment in late 2008, along with other associated dealers. While the final case is still pending, there has been no movement in Nunez’s case, though it’s hoped that his reduction will go through eventually. His wife and their children have been relocated for their safety.

The amazing thing is that from the sound of the report, this woman would happily have let her husband remain in jail for his full sentence, were it not for his kids missing him so much. He had kept his drug dealing a secret from her, but she found out one day accidentally. The lengths to which a mother will go to provide for her children are extraordinary. And you can bet that her kids will stay on the straight and narrow after this — you can’t escape Supermom.
