I know, I know, we are on “Fantastic Mr. Fox” overkill this weekend. We posted a review, a feature story featuring interviews and a behind the scenes video. But this movie – great for both kids and adults – is that good and as it opens in theaters (New York and LA today, in your city in the coming week) you need to see it out.

So, in that theme, we present the following video thanks to HitFix. Here you’ll see the director and co-director Wes Anderson act out scenes from the film. Wait, what? Let us explain.

  1. Anderson wrote the screenplay with Noah Baumbach.
  2. Actors recorded their parts on a real farm in New England.
  3. Storyboards were drawn and put together detailing every single shot of the movie.
  4. Anderson acted out many of these story boards as a reference for animators who were about to start the stop motion animation process
  5. Stop motion animation

This video gives us a hint at step 4. The people who animated the character each subtle movement at a time watched these videos and it gave them an idea of how the director wanted each one to move.

If you kids are fans of this movie, they will be blown away by this video as it gives a unique an cool glimpse at the filmmaking process.

Enjoy!
