baby-bottleA pair of masked robbers broke into an Indianapolis, Indiana house last week Friday, tying up two adults and a teenager. At some point during their search of the house, a baby was heard crying, prompting one of the adults to ask the robbers to allow the teenager to feed the infant. Not only did the robber let the teen loose, he himself warmed up the bottle in the microwave. Shortly after, the two left.

Police are seeking the duo but have little to go on other than a general description. The crime occurred at the 6100 block of East 21st Street just after 8:30 AM. If anyone has any information on this matter, they are advised to call the IMPD or Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.

Is it possible to show compassion and cruelty at the same time? One of the masked men assaulted one of the adults twice, causing the man to pass out from the beating. How to categorize this kind of behavior that still allows for mercy toward a baby? Is there really honor among thieves? These burglars brought guns into the home, presumably with the intent to use them if they had to. It’s unlikely that, once they’ve been caught, their one act of compassion will result in any kind of clemency regarding punishment. So how to react to this news? We can be thankful this didn’t end in bloodshed, and be done with it.
