GroceryIQI think I’m weird, because I love grocery shopping. Maybe it’s just because I love food, but who knows? I do not, admittedly, use coupons as much as I should, though I am a faithful savings card shopper. I should use coupons, as they usually have the best deals, but who has time to search through paper after paper, clipping and sorting and filing and then to rifle through them at the checkout stand, while angry customers behind you plot your demise?

As with all things technology, even your shopping trip can be made easier by the use of an app on your iPhone, and I found a doozy to help streamline your grocery shopping.

Coupons.com has an iPhone app called Grocery iQ which makes shopping and saving at the grocery store even easier.

Instead of searching for coupons, Grocery iQ, which costs $0.99 to download,  searches for you. When you add items to your digital shopping list, Grocery iQ automatically generates coupons for applicable items. Or, if you want to find deals on your own, you can browse Coupons.com’s library of coupons, select which ones you want, and Grocery iQ will load the items into your shopping list.

The grocery list is always a pain, too. You leave stuff off, lose the list itself, skip over and forget items, but this app keeps track of your list for you, too.

You can share your grocery list with others, too, and synchronize the lists. So if hubby is at the store and you forgot to add chicken to list for dinner, you can add it, in real time, so nothing is missed.

Here’s what I think is the coolest feature: as soon as you are finished with a product, use the iPhone camera to snap a photo of the barcode before you throw it away and it’s automatically added to your shopping list – no typing or writing required.

Man, what don’t these iPhone’s do? Pretty soon, they’ll drive you to the store and shop for you while you get your nails done.  Man, hurry up with that one.
