It’s the simplest of ideas, yet it never fails to induce a little Thanksgiving spirit and a few laughs.

I give you, KidGlue readers:

Hand Turkeys!

Materials:

  • A hand (if you don’t have one, you can borrow your child’s or a friend’s)
  • Paper
  • Scissors
  • Crayons, Markers, or Finger Paints (If you’re feeling adventurous)
  • Some idea of what a turkey might look like

Trace somebody’s hand on a piece paper.  Draw on a beak, legs, feet, and whatever that red dangly thing is that we simply call a “gobbler” in my family.  Color on feathers, eyes, gunshot wounds and whatever other detailing you would like your turkey to have.

Cut around the outside of the turkey if you would like to hang it in your window to scare your neighbors.

Name your turkey.  My turkey is called NBC.

My daughter’s is called “I Wish You Didn’t Have to Die.”

Happy Thanksgiving!
