Lasagna-MDOh, the Thanksgiving spread – turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, cranberries, stuffing and spam??? SPAM???  Some cooks serve side dishes that would make Martha cringe.

  • Lasagna – As you may have guessed, this is mainly an Italian thing.  I like lasagna, but not so much with my turkey.
  • Baked beans – I get this one a little more.  I could see eating beans and turkey.
  • Coleslaw- This is more popular than you might think.  I am not a fan of the slaw, so it would never make it to my table.
  • Sauerkraut- I am going to go out on a limb and say this is a German thing, but I don’t know for sure.  Apparently it is very popular in Baltimore.
  • Oyster stuffing- Okay, Martha might serve this one.  It is considered fine cuisine.  I have never tried it, but I don’t thing that I could keep it down.

So what are you making for big Thursday?  Do you have any “weird” dishes that you like to make?  If not, you can get some inspiration(or a few laughs) here.  You can also find out how to choose your sides by your zodiac sign.  Its worth a shot if you’re adventurous.  Whatever you feast on this year, have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
