Aside from the turkey, and my family, desserts are my favorite thing about Thanksgiving. Desserts are arguably one of my favorite things in life. Most of the year I fight to eat them in moderation, but Thanksgiving is one of about half a dozen days in the year that I allow complete abandonment on calorie consumption. So of course I make sure to have incredible desserts, and lots of them! My guests will joke that there is more to eat for dessert than there is for dinner. Here are links to my favorite Thanksgiving dessert recipes.
- Maple Pumpkin Pie- This recipe makes an incredibly creamy pie. You still get that pumpkin taste you crave, but it has an almost caramel-y undertone to it. So good!
- Pecan Pie-This is a pretty basic recipe. I made a maple bourbon one last year. It was alright, but left me missing this classic. This year I am going back to the basics.
- Cranberry Orange Cheesecake- I made this on a whim for the first time last year and it stole the show. Everyone RAVED about it. I am not a big chocolate fan so I did graham cracker crust instead.
- Apple Crumb Pie- My favorite restaurant is a little hole in the wall called Babalu’s. They served this out-of-this-world caramel apple pie. I scoured the web trying to find a recipe for it. I don’t know if this is the actual recipe, but it tastes just like it.
- Vanilla Creme Pumpkin Cheesecake- No one will guess, but this is a healthier recipe for your guests who are counting calories. Pumpkin-y goodness without the guilt!
