christmas_stockingOne of the most exciting parts of Christmas in our house is opening stockings.  Since I was a little girl, me and my siblings would creep out of bed at the crack of dawn and stare in awe at all of the presents under the tree.  We weren’t allowed to open any of them until our parents woke up several hours later, but we were allowed to dig into to our stockings.  For many years, the gifts I found in there were my favorite because they were the ones I played with first on Christmas.  Now I that have passed this tradition on to my kids, I want to make sure to put goodies that thrill them in their stockings.  Here are creative stuffers for every boy and girl on your list.

  • Toddlers- Toddlers are so fun to shop for because they love everything!  You can stuff their stockings with fun things on the cheap.  Try bubbles, stickers, Play-Doh, finger paints, coloring books, flashlights, nightlights and of course fun holiday candies.  For other ideas check out your local dollar store.  You are sure to find a few things there to delight your toddler.
  • Little Boys- Action figures are a natural for boys.  You can buy Transformers, Bakugans, G.I. Joes or whatever else your little man is into.  Hot Wheels car are another favorite among this crowd.   Other ideas include a digital watch, temp tattoos, sunglasses, yo-yos, magnifying glass, magnets and playing cards.
  • Little Girls- Costume jewelry is always a hit. Charm bracelets, mood rings and lockets are good choices.  Play make-up, Chap Stick and lip gloss all make little girls feel like a big girl.  Hair accessories are also a nice gift.  Digital pets and stuffed animals appeal to their nurturing nature.  Girls will also like some of the boy suggestions above like tattoos, sunglasses and watches.
  • Teen Boys- Gift cards and movie passes are obvious, but good, ideas.  Teenagers love having their own money to spend.  If your teen enjoys a particular activity like snowboarding, you can get him a few lift tickets or a season pass. If they frequent a local arcade, there are usually passes for that as well.  If you have a practical joker, gag gifts like a whoopee cushion or hand buzzer are sure to be appreciated.  Other options include cell phone accessories, MP3 player and accessories, nice sunglasses, comic books or a digital camera.
  • Teen Girls- Nice jewelry always makes a girl feel special.  Anything that makes her feel pretty is sure to please.  Try make-up, hair accessories, perfume,  lotions and bath beads.  Most teen girls also like small accessories likes gloves, scarves and sunglasses.  Many of the above mentioned teen boy gifts like gift cards, passes, phone and music accessories and camera would be good ideas for girls too.
