BestToysGuide.com has come out with a list of the Top Toys for Boys and here we’ll reprint it, with a little bit of commentary of course. I must say that I am very jealous I didn’t have these toys growing up. We didn’t have night vision goggles or games that read our minds. The handheld video games out today have more power and graphics than all of the video game consoles I had as a kid, combined. So not fair.
- MindFlex Game
– One of the best reviewed toys of the year and the first step towards telepathic games. This literally reads your mind and uses brain waves to control a ball through a series of obstacles. Expensive? Yes. But kids would not be the only ones playing with this cool toy.
- Eyeclops Night Vision
– Yes, your child will have actual night vision; The kind of thing we only saw in spy movies and on S.W.A.T. teams. With this headset they will be able to clearly see up to 50 inches in complete darkness. Night time games just got taken to a new level.
- Hyper Dash
– Winner of Creative Child Magazine’s 2009 Top Toy of the Year award, this game will challenge their speed, skill, memory and coordination while using teamwork to have a little fun. It can be played solo as well so this easy to use and inexpensive toy is perfect to keep any group occupied for a while.
- Razor Pocket Rocket
– A freakin’ electric motorcycle! We got clunky electric jeeps. Razor has stepped up from the self propelled little scooters and come out with a cool electric scooter that will have them playing outside for hours. Make sure to get helmet and pads and make sure they wear them.
- Bakugan Dragonoid
- Okay we did have this sort of thing as kids and loved them. Think Voltron. But this is the next generation (instead of lions there are dragons). Seven smaller figures make up this big guy so watch out for the small parts with little kids.
- Nintendo DSI
- This handheld gaming console packs a lot more punch than the original Game Boys we had. These make perfect gifts because not only can they be opened and enjoyed immediately but if you have a long trip home it gives them something to do.
- LEGO Star Wars
– You can’t go wrong with LEGOs. They were great when we were kids and they are still keeping kids entertained today. Combine them with Star Wars and you have a match made in heaven. Obviously there are small pieces so beware.
- Devastator
– Yup, we had this exact toy as kids too. Transformers were cool on TV and they have been even cooler on the big screen. These ones would definitely beat the crap out of the ones we had though.
- Transformers Helmet
– Either after they’re done playing with #8 or while they’re playing with it, this cool helmet will give them the ability to “become” Bumblebee. Many cool sounds and features to complete the experience.
- Rocky the Robot Truck
– Boys will never get tired of big yellow trucks because they are perfect to play in the dirt with. And who doesn’t like that? Word of advice; if the word “twuck” is in their vocabulary, get them this toy.
