Top 10 Toys for Girls

BestToysGuide.com has come out with a list of the Top Toys for Girls and here it is for you to see, with a little bit of commentary.  As a male, I did not grow up playing with girl’s toys so the jealousy I had with the boys toy is not quite the same.  But the things kids get to play with today are really cool regardless of who they are for.

1. Walk & Giggle Doll

   

   - Dolls are to girls what trucks are to boys.  You can’t really go wrong.  This doll walks and talks and is the next step for any of those little mommies out there.

2. Barbie Townhouse

   

   – I want to know where Barbie gets her money because she is constantly getting new places to live.  Now she has a HUGE townhouse that your girls will love to play with.  If this was out when you had Barbies, you’d want one.

3. Kid Tough Camera

   

   - Finally a kids digital camera that is fairly inexpensive but will stand up to the wear and tear of being a kid while giving them the chance to take their own pictures.  Just think, you won’t have to hold your breath every time you hand them your camera because they want to take a picture.

4. Holiday Barbie 2009

   

   – See #2 for my deal with Barbie.  But this is a yearly tradition, a new Holiday Barbie.  Little girls and collectors alike will want one of these.

5. Zhu Zhu Pets

   

   - A very popular toy for all kids but beware of some often overlooked problems.  But aren’t they just so damn cute?  Evil.

6. Dora Links

   

   - Not to be confused with Dora the Explorer, this toy is a doll that plugs into the computer and lets you interact with her online world.  A cool idea for the girls while big brother is busy playing World of Warcraft

7. Barbie Jammin Jeep

   

   – See #4 & #2.  She gets MORE stuff.  But actually this type of toy has always been around.  I remember my friend and I pushing his sister’s jeep down a hill.  Ah, good times.

8. Lego Pink Brick Box

   

   - LEGO’s were unisex when I was a kid but looking back there wasn’t much aimed at girls.  Finally they have their own set of LEGO’s that probably don’t include lasers, swords or dragons.  When the boys dominant the LEGO pile, the girls will love having their own set that will be just theirs.  The boys won’t touch the pink box anyway.

9. FurReal Friends Lulu

   

   - A cat toy will give them the joy of having a “pet” without giving you the joy of having poop to clean up.  This trick won’t work forever but while they are still little enough to pretend, give them this cool toy that will be something more lifelike to enjoy.

10. Nintendo DSI

    

    - Make sure it’s the pink model and it will make their day.  Brother won’t want to be seen playing a pink console so Sister will have something all to herself.  The video game market used to be a Boys Club but girls have proven they like them too and there are many games geared to them.
