Much to the chagrin and heartbreak of women the world over, Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves welcomed their daughter to the world this weekend. Vida Alves McConaughey was born at 12:13 am on Sunday. Weighing in at 7 pounds and 7 ounces, Vida (Portuguese for “life”) joins big brother Levi, who is 17 months old.
McConaughey (who is 40) and his girlfriend Camila (26) revealed the pregnancy in June of last year. Matthew’s blog had a post saying, “We pulled off the greatest miracle in the world one more time. Camila and I are expecting our second child, bringing more life into the world, making more to live for. The future looks bright as the family grows.”
By the afternoon of January 3, McConaughey had a new post on his blog titled, “New Year and New Baby!” He shared, “Vida is Portuguese for ‘life’ and that’s what God gave us this morning. Camila’s recovering wonderfully and we are both truly honored to welcome this little lady into our family: thanks for all your well wishes and prayers along the way, another blessed day, we give thanks, just keep livin’, Matthew and Camila.”
There haven’t been any pictures released as of yet, but we’ll share as soon as we find any so you can judge for yourself if she’s an adorable baby!
