News outlets have begun reporting that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie signed separation papers earlier this month, divvying up their combined assets of $322 million, but not their six children. Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh, Pax, Knox, and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt will live full-time with Angelina. Brad will have “full access” to all three of the couple’s biological children, as well as their three adopted children.
“Brangelina,” as they are known, began their relationship in 2005 while filming Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The affair was tabloid fodder from its beginning, being cited as the reason for Pitt’s divorce to his then-wife, Jennifer Aniston. The couple have never married, stating that they would not marry until American homosexuals could wed. Apparently now they will never marry, as they decided it was time to split after a holiday break filled with fights. The misery is reported to have come to a head on January 6, when the pair had a six-hour dinner/blow-up at the Alto restaurant in New York.
Brangelina has been Brad and Angelina for a while now, according to photographs and appearances. They did not appear at the Golden Globe awards, despite Brad’s Inglourious Basterds being nominated for several awards. Brad was present at the Los Angeles location of the Help for Haiti Now telethon without Angelina.
Interestingly, Jennifer Aniston was present. Make of that what you will.
