This weeks child role model is an 18-year-old artist named Joshua Johnson. When Joshua was 13 he discovered that he had a love for painting and a talent that was beyond his years. Since then Johnson’s themes have become more focused on reality, nature and deep ideas and his stock has continued to rise.
Josh has stayed out of the spotlight in recent years but I”m sure he’s busy with school and future projects and will be back with new paintings soon. See for yourself in the video above how Joshua painted the ideas he is trying to portray. Even at age 14 he was a well spoken and seemingly humble young man who seemed more mature than his age would indicate.
He was raised in a highly artistic house; his father was an artist as well and his brother tutored under acclaimed artist, Sonia Torres. So their family has that artistic gene in them but that doesn’t mean your child can’t too.
Show your kids this video of Joshua so they can see that it doesn’t matter what age you are, your talents can be recognized. They should know that if they think they do something well, to practice at it and one day it may be what they get to do in life and be recognized for it.
