WHEN IN ROME_JPG“Finding Entertainment Appropriate for Kids,” or FEAK, runs every Friday and discusses places – mainly the movie theaters – where parents can look to find things for their kids to watch over the weekend.

February is almost here, the Super Bowl is coming up and the holidays are an after though. Now, Hollywood turns their attention to relationships. With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, the romances begin rolling out this week with “When in Rome.” There’s also a new Mel Gibson movie about a father avenging the murder of his daughter called “Edge of Darkness” that’s out but it’s not even close to “Appropriate for Kids.”

“When in Rome,” on the other hand, is. It’s a romantic comedy made by Disney and even though it’s rated PG-13 for “some suggestive content” that basically just means that characters lust after each other. The story involves a young girl who falls in love in Rome, but also has three men fall in love with her. It stars Kristin Bell (“Veronica Mars”) and Josh Duhamel (“Transformers”).

Unfortunately, there are no reviews as of press time, however the buzz we’ve heard from film critics in around Los Angeles is decidedly NOT good. Hopefully, we’ll get a more concrete idea in the coming week but if your family likes romance, you should be fine.

That’s the only new film released this week, but don’t forget to read our thoughts on a whole bunch of other family fare, some of which is really good, some of which is really bad. There’s “Tooth Fairy,” “Extraordinary Measures,” “The Spy Next Door,” “Avatar,” & “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel” just to name a few.
