GetMommed.Com More Than Just Kleenex Ad

By Claire on February 9th, 2010

If you watch TV, you’ve probably seen Kleenex’s new campaign called ‘Get Mommed’. It caught my attention enough to go to their Web site, getmommed.com. While it’s a promotion for Kleenex, it is more a celebration of mothers and their nature that all kids love so much.

On it, you choose the mom that fits you best and, if you can’t decide, you can take a quiz to determine that for you. And once you have a mother, they can do some of the motherly duties that you miss dear old mom doing for you. This includes waking you up, giving words of encouragement and comfort, maternal advice, mobile reminders and food tips among other things. There are eight moms to choose from and they’re all a little cliché, but there’s truth to every cliché. They’re is sure to be one to at least resemble your precious mom.

Overall, it’s a neat little site and is all for fun and games. There is a welcoming ‘about’ message stating their intention is to poke a tiny bit of fun at mothers, but also to pay tribute to moms and all of their wonderful manifold of facets. Mostly, though, it’s designed to promote Kleenex during the flu and sick season because when you’re feeling ill and might have the flu, or at least a stuffy nose, you need a little extra love and care. What better person to give you some compassion and coddling (and act as a spokesman) than a mother?

I say job well done by Kleenex. It’s a down to earth, entertaining, and amusing marketing idea. It’s certainly worth navigating around for a little bit of time, so be sure to go to getmommed.com.
