KateGosselin-MDKate Gosselin, famous mother of eight and media mogul in her own right, will release a new book on April 13th: “I Just Want You to Know: Letters to My Kids on Love, Faith and Family.” Gosselin, who has already published two New York Times bestsellers and is in production on a new television show for TLC, said in a statement that “each day the thought crosses [her] mind that when they get older, [her] kids are going to look back and think about how they were raised.”

She acknowledges that “they will have a lot of questions about things that may not make sense because they were raised so unconventionally.” So she decided to write a book that would make it clear “without a shadow of a doubt how much [she loves] them and how much every sacrifice made was worth it for them.”

And there have been plenty of sacrifices. The Gosselin family has been in the news for all the wrong reasons of late: Jon’s affair, their subsequent divorce, Kate’s temper, Kate’s hair. Kate hopes that this book of prayers, journal excerpts and letters will help her children understand the media tornado that is their childhood when they’re all grown up.

Gosselin’s new show is rumored to not feature her children, possibly another facet of her attempt to help them normalize their lives.  According to Entertainment Weekly, unconfirmed reports suggest that the new TLC show will be all about Gosselin trying new offbeat jobs every week.  According to TLC the show is still in development and they haven’t settled on an idea yet.  ”When we have determined what the show will be, you will hear directly from us,” a network spokesman promised.

I've stayed away from blogs and stories about the Gosselins, but came here because I wanted to know about the new book! I was a big fan of J&K+8, but because I think gossip is never good and is usually only part of the story, I've tried to avoid *all* Gosselin gossip when the show ended and the stories began getting *really* ugly! So, I have a question and am begging you to *please* not slam me for asking! It's a real question from someone who hasn't heard Gosselin news in a while! "[They've] been in the news for all the wrong reasons of late: Jon’s affair, their subsequent divorce..." Did he have an affair? wowza! I guess I've missed a lot. Sorry to hear he had an affair that subsequently cause the demise of his marriage. :( About the last time I *looked* for news was when the buzz was about a 'contract' they had. I did watch the Kate interview where she said that they both knew the marriage was over about a year before the split; and I saw her on The View or another interview saying she didn't think he had an affair. I mean, I assume they had agreed they were 'free' once they filed for divorce. Although they were still legally married until the judge signed the papers, the judge in my divorce (in PA) said anything that happened past the date of separation didn't 'count.' From that date on, which was18 months before the divorce was final, he wasn't "cheating" when he slept around and any income we earned or property acquired was separate property. I assume what is written here then means that he had an affair before they agreed to a separation?! The way it's written, I also assume it was the cause of the subsequent divorce? I hope Kate filed with Adultery as a cause then!! Not a question, but a comment: "[Kate's] new show is rumored to not feature her children...her attempt to help them normalize their lives." I remember Kate saying on the last episode of J&K+8 that she was sad it was taken away from the kids too soon! I know Jon was responsible for stopping them from filming the kids and he claimed it was to normalize their lives. Although I enjoyed watching the family just live when the kids were babies and felt like I had a glimpse into them growing up, as the divorce became obviously imminent it seemed the kids would probably fare better with some privacy. Divorce is hard enough on kids. So it's GREAT to hear that Jon and Kate agree on this now! It's great on two fronts: 1. they are working together to give the kids a normal life. 2. just that they actually *agree* on something is mindblowing! :) I'm glad changed her view on this! And I wish her luck on the book! I'll probably check it out from the library when it comes out!
