Child Role Model – Cameron Johnson, 24

By Jeremy Suede on February 26th, 2010

It is never too early to nurture a child’s money managing skills and encourage them to take their ideas as far as they can.  Kids are often told they are too young to do something and they need to be adults, but that is not true.  Let them know about Cameron Johnson and all that he has accomplished by the young age of 24.

From the age of 7, Cameron Johnson was destined to become a salesman.  It was then that he started selling vegetables to his neighbors from his little red wagon he pulled around the block.  Two years later he received his first computer for Christmas and a couple months after that he started a greeting card business.  A couple years after that he used the few thousand dollars he had made and, with his parents, started investing in the stock market.  Within two years he had made more than seven times his initial investment.

In Japan, his life story 15-Year-Old CEO is a national bestseller and chronicles his life (so far) and how he became so successful at a young age.  Since then he has written his own book, You Call the Shots which has become a very popular book here in America.  Currently Cameron is speaking to major corporations about their business plans and hearing ideas they may have.  This 24 year-old kid is consulting to ‘Fortune 500′ companies, most of which are older than he is.  He’s gotta be doing something right.

He started managing his own finances at a very young age and took full control immediately.  He did this all on his own initiative and while his parents encouraged him they never pushed him to do something.  Cameron is a very driven and persistent person who any kid can look at and want to be like.
