Carrie Underwood Contemplates Married Life

CarrieUnderwood-MDCountry music superstar and budding actress Carrie Underwood’s life is already complicated, but she doesn’t seemed fazed by the prospect of adding a long distance, nomadic marriage into the mix.  Carrie is based in Nashville and her soon to be hubby Mike Fisher, hockey star for the Ottawa Senators is based in Peterborough, Ontario in Canada.  Not that either of them is home much given their travel intensive careers.  The young couple doesn’t plan to settle down any time soon either, Carrie told People Magazine that, “We’ll be nomads for awhile, until one of us retires.”

But Mike and Carrie are used to spending time apart in the service of each of their demanding careers, and are comfortable with their lifestyle: “Not being in the same room won’t lessen our relationship, we completely have faith in each other,” Carrie assured People.

Despite their current career focus, Carrie is already imagining what the Fisher/Underwood family will be like.  ”Mike is amazing with children,” she gushes to People. “He’s so going to be a better parent!  I’m not bad with them, but I didn’t grow up around children, and he had brothers and sisters his age.”

But before they start picking out baby names, the couple needs to pick a wedding date.  They are aiming for sometime this summer, and, for the moment, focusing on keeping the wedding planning stress-free.  They’re letting the wedding planner take care of the details and staying closely connected through their cell phones. Talking and texting lets them be together, at least virtually, as they pursue their dreams.

Carrie is currently in Hawaii for a movie role in SOUL SURFER, a movie based on the story of teenage surfing star Bethany Hamilton who lost an arm to a tiger shark attack in October of 2003. Her acting debut, a guest spot on “How I Met Your Mother” hit the airwaves Monday.
